The vibration plate: a bridge to lasting strength.
We use a Power Plate vibration plate at Body Guitar Clinic. It is one tool to help bridge the gap between physical therapy and long-term strength in your bracing muscles.
A Power Plate vibration plate at Body Guitar Clinic, used when it fits your plan.
We have a Power Plate vibration plate here at Body Guitar Clinic. We have been working with it to help bridge the gap between physical therapy and long-term strength in your bracing muscles — the deep muscles that steady your body.
What makes vibration different
Vibration is passive: the plate does the moving. It is also mindful: you pay attention to your body while you are on it. We use it to work on strength in your:
- Feet
- Calves
- Glutes (the muscles of your buttocks)
- Spine
- Neck
Other ways we use it
Lower bone density (osteopenia). Osteopenia means your bones are less dense than they should be, but not as thin as in osteoporosis. Standing on the plate puts gentle, repeated load through your bones, and that kind of loading work can help support bone health in people with osteopenia. It does not replace the bone-density plan you make with your doctor.
Lymphatic drainage. Lymph is a clear fluid that moves through your tissues and can collect when you sit or stand still for a long time. The gentle movement of the plate can help move lymph along, and some people feel less puffy or swollen afterward. If you have new or sudden swelling, especially in one leg, see a doctor first.
How it fits your plan
The vibration plate is one tool, used when it fits your plan. It sits next to the other Tune Me work, like walking, posture, and motion. For muscles that are too weak to train well yet, HI-FEM may come first.
Posture is part of this work too. Posture is not only how your head and shoulders line up. It also includes whether your sternum (breastbone) is straight up and down, at a right angle to the ground. Standing with your weight back on your heels or with your knees locked are signs of poor posture.
We are honest about where we are with it. We continue to explore how useful vibration is for Tune Me goals, and we do not promise results from it.
Before you use it, we will talk about your health history and whether it is a good fit for you. This is a clinic tool that works alongside your doctor, not a replacement for your doctor, and it is not emergency care.
